‘Sky’ is an 80′ gaff rigged yawl originally built in England in 1890. Little history is known of the yacht, and the builder and designer are unknown. From 1997-1999, the she underwent a historical restoration bringing her back to the original design. Spencer Rigging(Cowes, UK) meticulously researched the vessel and her heritage. All rigging, hull repair and interior repairs were completed by Dradisa Vilanova boatyard in Spain under the watchful eye of Spencer Rigging. In 2003 more structural work was done on the hull. Then, in 2008-2014 ‘Sky’ underwent a major renovation to bring her back to excellent condition with modern updates. Major improvements were an extended dog house to allow in more light down below, a redesigned helm station with joystick control for easier maneuverability, complete refit of the interior with redesigned head, cabins and living space. All new electronics and instrumentation were added inside and out.
